Artnic Dutch Design

Design

Artnic (1988) is an all-round design agency specialising in communication concepts, design, and product realisation. Artnic supplies a team of enthusiastic professionals who make every project a success. Owner and creative jack-of-all-trades Nico Joosting Bunk: ‘The current market demands flexible and creative solutions. Each new challenge requires a unique approach and a bespoke team.’ For most clients, the final product for Artnic’s communication projects involve (graphic) products such as books, magazines and brochures. For Artnic, the challenge lies in creating original designs that are unique and striking so the published works do what they need to do: get noticed!

Since 2004, Artnic also carries the ArtNik publishing brand, specifically for artists, writers, actors and other organisations who wish to bring a book or another graphic product to the market. Nico: ‘Our good reputation has given us a lot of new clients. We are proud that we come recommended by ArtNik.’ ArtNik is well-known brand in Deventer, with published titles such as De Valsche Geschiedenis van Deventer (The Untruthful History of Deventer), De zeven Deventer moordzaken (The Seven Deventer Murder Cases) (Marcel Verreck and Almar Otten), and De geest van Lebuïnus – a historical comic strip by Hans Stempher.

The export of new products started around 2017 when, through Nico’s increasingly wide-spread network, the business received a request to collaborate on the development of rides for Chinese family amusement parks. This involved suspended coasters, roller coasters and other items. After the financial agreements were made, sketches and drawings were drawn up which were later constructed by engineers to produce a prototype. The Chinese business partner was so enthusiastic about the result that they decided to produce an animation video, designed by Artnic, to stimulate project developers to purchase the rides. In part due to this animation video, one coaster has already been sold, and businesses in other Chinese regions have options on seven more of these coasters. This success is just the beginning. Further negotiations are now under way for other rides. These activities abroad have led to a new specialty: Artnic Dutch Design.
