Design Veranda was founded by Nick and Peter Driezes in 2014. Dennie had been active in the industry for a while and Nick worked as a search engine specialist for, among others, Thuisbezorgd.nl. Both of them excellently complement each other. The business has experienced a rapid growth and has its own large commercial building in Deventer with 450 m2 of inspiration for porches, garden rooms and spas. Design Veranda works with long-term partners who install the products on-site.
Design Veranda imports aluminium profiles of high quality with a powder coating and 10 years warranty from Germany, where the porches and other products are made. Besides porches, garden rooms (non-isolated conservatories), carports, glass door systems, sliding doors, side walls, spas and complete gardens are also provided. The concept of Design Veranda is unique. Design Veranda’s showroom has a 7 x 6 metres porch on 2 poles on display and shows hundreds of photos of porches, conservatories and garden rooms that have been installed for customers. These customers act as a preview location for new customers. Nick: “Customer satisfaction comes first. We aren’t happy until the customer is happy. That’s why we get 70% of our new customers because of references.”
What also makes Design Veranda stand out is its focus on advice instead of sales. In the showroom, they display the profiles of several competitors, so you will be fully aware of the product you are buying. Of course with the right price-quality ratio.
Design Veranda is proud of the fact that they can deliver complete concepts that are completely customised to the customer’s wishes. Porches in combination with a complete garden as well as spa projects with garden are possible.
Export ambition
Design Veranda sees plenty of growth opportunities abroad. Especially the German market is interesting. In addition to growth in the existing range, growth is also sought in related assortment such as spa baths, shutters & screens, heaters, complete gardens and so on. Design Veranda is discussing possible plans with several European suppliers.
Design Veranda also focuses on online sales channels in addition to their personal advice / sales in the showroom. Nick: “We receive many requests online. We have therefore invested in our website. Visitors will be able to quickly and easily compose their own porch on our website in the near future, which immediately shows the quotation as well. This is very user friendly and saves us time. We apply fair prices and have a large supply on stock for direct delivery. We expect to be able to accelerate our growth because of this.”
