In 2020 Diego Smits, Nick Douma and Coen Nijenhuis joined forces to set up the IT company ProfitFlow. All three had years of experience in commercial and IT companies and they decided to bundle their talent to go it alone. ProfitFlow designs customised software for mobile and web development, providing a total package to improve efficiency and save their customers’ money.

Diego Smits: “Our services are particularly suited to manufacturing and trading companies. The more complicated the challenge the better because that usually means a standard solution does not work and something specific has to be designed. That’s what we’re good at!” Many web and IT techniques can be brought into play such as Laravel / PHP, Vue.Js / Javscript en Sql. We have extensive know-how and deploy whatever best serves the customer.

The team has gained most of its experience working with the biggest tyre business in Europe. There was already warm contact and many projects have sprung from this relationship. A dealer portal had already been developed and a special portal has been added, specially for leasing companies. The functionalities implemented allow for: validation of contracts, support in choosing the right tyre size, overviews of what individual lease companies order and statistics on seasonal tyre changes. A second product is an application which couples sales invoices with packing slips. Until now this was done by hand which took time and resulted in a relatively high number of mistakes. ProfitFlow has now automated this.

ProfitFlow likes to work with manufacturing companies and makes contact by phoning around. Staff make about 40 calls a day, resulting in an average of 8 appointments and one or two commissions. The company is currently working for five companies. A customer portal has been built for a pallet company which enables customers to order on their own special terms; the site now uploads much quicker which considerably improves online findability.

For a plastics processing company the whole procedure from quotation to delivery of the products has been automated, which saves time and provides insight in the status of quotations and orders.

Diego is looking to the future with great confidence. The first clients are very satisfied and follow-up projects are coming in. There is a good chance that some of the applications that ProfitFlow has developed will also be used by the overseas branches of some clients.
