Director Tony Veer of The Box has been actively working with tin boxes his whole professional career. First as an employee at multinationals and since 1998, after a management buy-out, as owner of The Box. Since then the company grew into an industry leader of ‘stocktins’ in the Benelux and supplies promotional cans everywhere in Europe. The Box’s team salestarget for 2018 is 10 million pieces.

Tin can brand experience

Tony Veer gets very enthusiastic when counting the benefits of tin boxes: “In the old days tins were mostly functional, it was sturdy and could pack a punch. Food supplies remained fresh longer thanks to the airtight packaging. These benefits still stand, these days an extra benefits is added: brand experience! Tin boxes radiate quality and people tend to save the cans after use. Tins are durable too, 95% of all tin cans can be recycled.”

The assortment consists of standard and unprinted cans in all sizes. The Box has one million pieces of these in stock for quick delivery. The Box also delivers custom made tins. These are tin boxes custom made for te client, think of famous brands like Vedett, La Place, Le Coq Sportif and Paleis het Loo! The Box can offer a cake-tin for €1,50 per piece, thanks to the import from China and low overhead-costs .

Particularly inspiring

This way it is very interesting for the baker on the street-corner to publish his own cookie-tins for example. A tour through The Box’s inspiring showroom shows us many of the tins find their way to coffee- and tea trade, confectionery manufacturers and other companies in the food industry. Still some items stand out: how about a miniature coffin to keep hard rock artist Ozzy Osbourne’s harmonica in or a can shaped like a dog’s bone.
A steady growth of clients and revenue is expected for the future. In 2016 The Box added aluminum tins to the assortment. Growth of this promises a lot for the future.
